The picture above comes from an obscure booklet published in 1922 by The Connecticut Swine Grower's Association. The booklet is titled Connecticut and the Hog, and it is part of a PDF download titled Three Vintage Hogs that I sell on my Agriphemera web site.
The first time I looked at this old picture, I completely missed the small object in white in the background. Click on the picture if you want to see a larger view.
I would love to have the original of this photo to enlarge and frame. I wonder if it still survives somewhere in a box of family photos?
Ohmygoodness! I thought this was a caricature of pigs until I saw that small boy! WOW! And I thought our pigs were big!
